Exterior Acrylic/Latex on Aluminium

This homes’ aluminium siding was looking dirty and dated and was due for a refresh. The original white siding was old and dated, and the home owners were looking to give their home some more curb appeal.

Clients’ Wishes

This type of exterior job is fairly straight forward with less “moving parts” per say. The home owners wanted strictly just the siding painted. No windows, no doors, just refresh the aluminium siding and make it look more modern. There happened to be a home around the corner that they quite fancied the colour of and wanted us to apply a similar colour to their own home. That is what we did.

What We Did

This white aluminium siding was covered in dirt and grime. We are always thorough when prepping exterior surfaces for paint. The entirety of the exterior siding required a sanding, removing any dirt or grime built up from the years of wear and tear. The siding must be 100% dry when applying paint, therefore any morning dew must be burnt off prior to application of paint. Aluminium siding also gets very hot in the sun. We must “run from the sun” in order to paint in the shade before the siding gets too hot to paint. The siding is always painted with 2 coats of exterior paint for durability purposes. You can see the difference in the pictures between the first coat of paint and the final product.
